name of pedestrian street[edit]

I have a problem with navit on xperia neo. I don't see the name of pedestrian street and It's impossible to use navit for example to walk in Venice!

It would be great, if there will somebody create a actual vmware-ubuntu-image for easy compiling an apk (like the old one: Easy Method) --Efred 09:19, 5 April 2012 (CEST)

FLOSS repo[edit]

I invited the team of to add Navit. They claimed out, that they had problems on building it as well. --Usul (talk) 11:11, 14 June 2013 (CEST)

In this wiki-page, its noted "To use your default Android keyboard instead, just press and hold your device's Menu button until the keyboard pops up". But, which Menu button? On my devices (Galaxy Nexus, Nexus 4, Nexus 7) there is no Hardware-Menu Button. How can I use the default Android Keyboard on these devices? Its really not pleasant to use the Navit-own-keyboard - a qwerty/qwertz-keyboard will be much better. --Efred (talk) 09:11, 27 June 2013 (CEST)

Sadly I have no experiences with Android, but there seem to be devices that have such a button: #771. Otherwise you can disable the Navit virtual keyboard with
<gui .... keyboard="false">

But I have no idea, if Android will detect the Navit edit boxes as widgets and offer the Android keypad for you :/ If there is really no possibility to emulate such a event with the internal soft keyboard, please search for a corresponding trac ticket (Reporting Bugs).

P.S: Please use the forums instead for support requests, as nobody else monitors the wiki for changes. So nobody can help you ;) --Usul (talk) 16:07, 27 June 2013 (CEST)
