Hi Alex, saw you are contributing to OSM, too :) How are you?--Usul (talk) 11:46, 9 June 2013 (CEST)

Yes, but my contribution is very small. I fix errors in OSM found while riding on roads. --Alx (talk) 16:54, 9 June 2013 (CEST)

Ah ok, I thought you are familar with user:vvoovv or user:xenos1984. But hey fixing is very ok, the most don't care about the bugs, if the map looks ok ;) So you running navit in your daily buisness?--Usul (talk) 17:27, 9 June 2013 (CEST)
No, for everyday riding to work I need no navigation program at all. Riding back home in evening I need only navigation program which use traffic jam information. This is my personal need. But I'm head of IT department of express delivery company and I consider Navit as open source platform for navigation applications.--Alx (talk) 18:22, 9 June 2013 (CEST)
That sounds interesting. Do you like to write a userstory of this case for the community, so we can see all your requirements for navit? Somebody from the logistics already wrote a german one, but I'm interested in your point of view and your vision on what features might help you and to let us see, what still prevents you currently from a good experience: User:Usul/NavitRefactoring#roadmap --Usul (talk) 19:43, 9 June 2013 (CEST)
Now I'm not ready fully articulate the idea. In basic we need a way to log activity of our agent including it in gpx track. This agent uses navigator for navigation and marking in gpx track pick up / delivery points in interactive mode. Then track is used for report generation. Another idea is make Navit a gps-monitoring client for internet connected devices. I have implemented this ideas in separate program for Windows CE devices, but it would be interesting integrate it in navigation program for better usability.--Alx (talk) 15:46, 10 June 2013 (CEST)
I think I'm getting the point :) Of course there are remaining questions for a lot of details (how about privacy of the driver for example?, how to exchange data, ...). Even if this is far beyond the requirements of a usual (private) enduser, I consider this to be important even for other companies. Well if you find the time, a short summary/usecase as linked would be brilliant :) --Usul (talk) 16:54, 10 June 2013 (CEST)
Moreover, I could implement it in program code. But when exploring Navit's source code I found it is very sophisticated and not clear self-commented. All I've wrote was a patch which preset cyrillic keyboard for some locales. This patch was enhanced later by user:tryagain--Alx (talk) 17:49, 10 June 2013 (CEST)
